If you would like to share your special talents with others or offer instruction, we would like to hear from you. All classes are self-supporting with instructors paid on a contract basis. For all you parents that work or stay home we have the perfect solution for the long summer months. We have designed a recreation program that fits the needs of everyone in the community.
This 10-week program is filled with trips to Brite Lake, Movie Theater, field trips to local businesses, crafts, & much, much more.

Tiny Tots
Tiny Tots is a preschool preparation program for children ages 1-½ to 3-½. Tots mixes the fun of a Mommy and Me class, while teaching your child the skills necessary for preschool success. This hour-long program includes circle time and an age appropriate project with every class.
- Location: Scout Hall – 311 East "D" St in Central Park (Directions)
- Cost: $30 a month. One time Registration Fee $15
- Days and Times: Tuesday & Thursday, 10:00am – 11:30am

Big Tots
Big Tots is an extension of Tiny Tots. This class teaches children valuable skills to succeed in Kindergarten. This two-hour program is a drop off class, however, parents are always welcome to stay. There are no more than 10 children in the class at a time so your child will always receive the personal attention he or she deserves. Every class includes craft projects, circle time, a worksheet and share time.
- Location: Scout Hall – 311 East "D" St in Central Park (Directions)
- Cost: $50 a month. One time Registration Fee $25
- Days and Times: Monday and Wednesday, 9:00am – 11:00am
- Maximum Class Size: 10 children

Have you always wanted to learn Spanish? Want to dust off that high school Spanish you have stashed away? Well here is your chance to start on the road to being bilingual!
This class focuses on the Communicative Approach, a fun and active way to learn a language. You will start practicing your Spanish right away! Classes will be offered twice a week and basic materials are included. (Other materials such as dictionaries and verb books may be purchased seperately.)

Couples’ dancing is a super way to get back in shape and a favorite among those looking for a social component. You will look dashing at weddings or other events when the band strikes up.
Cha Cha: You won’t be able to sit still in the presence of Latin music. The sexy hip turning moves and intricate footwork are fast and exhilarating.
Swing: With names like the Jitter-bug, West coast Swing and Lindy, this throwback to the 1930’s and 40’s is a high impact social form of exercise and can be danced to a variety of music like Blues, Rock, Country, etc.
All ages young adults through seniors are welcome.

Get in shape and learn a fighting system that was developed by taking the best of various systems and combining them into one. This system was designed to promote Physical Fitness, Mental Awareness, and Self-Confidence for the student.
If you ever wanted to learn a Self Defense system, the time is now! We are beginning our 3rd year at the West Park Activity Center.
Sign up at the TVRPD office, or simply come in during class time and sign up with the instructor.

Jazzercise Circuit is a fun-filled hour of cardio, muscle conditioning and strength training using exer-tubes and hand weights. The structure of this class allows for more intense strength training,and cardio-vascular conditioning. Excellent for all levels of fitness. Perfect for beginners!!!!

This 60-minute class offers a blend of today’s hottest music. Including top 40, jazz, country, funk and classics. Easy to follow, fun choreography includes a gentle warm up, 30 minute aerobic workout, muscle toning and strengthening segment with weighs and a stretch finale.

Students are taught a variety of dance techniques such as Jazz, Hip-hop, Modern Dance and Ballet along with incorporating the value of physical fitness. Our fitness program is geared for today’s youth in 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade.
A basic introduction to basketball and volleyball drills are incorporated into the class. The use of jump ropes and hula hoops makes the class fun and invigorating.
Age-appropriate music and choreography is selected and taught by certified instructor, Chris Duff. The students will have the opportunity to perform at the Kern County Fair.

A fun and vigorous hour class that includes a great warm-up that leads into an easy to follow low impact cardiovascular conditioning segment. Exercise and get in shape to music! Improve your overall fitness and enjoy the variety of the muscle conditioning of the Step Aerobics class. (Step not included)
