Our camp hosts collect fees from park users, keep the bathrooms clean, pick up litter, and perform light grounds maintenance.

Martin & Kathy Matye

Martin & Kathy Matye are the fall through winter camp hosts at Brite Lake. They have been married for 33 years and have spent the last 4 as full-time RVers!

A former resident of the Antelope Valley for 24 years, Kathy is a retired job coach supervisor who worked for Desert Haven Enterprises, which is a company that provides training/workshops and jobs for disabled adults. Kathy has previous experience as an assistant manager for the Californian RV Resort in Acton CA. She enjoys her fulltime RV lifestyle and looks foreword to assisting and sharing her experience with the campers at Brite Lake.

Martin is a native Californian (originally from the San Fernando Valley) who after 23 years of public and state service is retiring from the California Department of Corrections where he was a Vocational Teacher for the past 12 years. Martin has an extensive background in maintenance and landscaping and enjoys gardening and fixing things. Like his wife Kathy he enjoys the RV Full-Timer lifestyle and loves outdoor activities.

Ron and Jeannie Kettlekamp from Lancaster, CA are the spring through summer camp hosts at Brite Lake.

2008 was Ron and Jeannie's fifth year camp hosting and they are looking forward to spending the summer in Tehachapi. Last year they were camp hosts at Los Padres and prior to that they were camp hosts for three years in Washington.
