Monday nights - 7:00 PM

DanceFit is an upbeat, fun, creative and challenging way to exercise. Basic Dance choreography is set to a variety of music genres, then combined with aerobic movement to create this exciting class for all levels. If you enjoy dancing this is for you; if you have never danced, this is for you! Dancing is a great way to get fit while having fun. Dancing can provide great health benefits such as, weight loss, improved heart health, muscle strength, increased bone density, decreased risk of dementia, improved memory, increased energy and improved overall mood. Join DanceFit and reap the mental and physical rewards of dancing!

**No experience necessary. Ages 14 and up.

Low Impact Aerobics

Tuesday and Thursday nights - 7:00 PM
Instructor: Kathleen Kline

Enjoy a fun class that is easy for beginners and challenging for the tried and true exerciser. Low impact aerobics, being easy on the joints, will:

  • Boost energy level
  • Burn calories
  • Reduce stress
  • Get you in shape!

**No experience necessary. Ages 14 and up.


Wednesday nights - 7:00 PM
Instructor: Shell Christian

Zumba is a fitness program that combines Latin and international music with dance moves. Zumba routines incorporate interval training — alternating fast and slow rhythms — and resistance training. This is a low impact class appropriate for all ages and dance levels. Come Join the party!

**No experience necessary. Ages 14 and up.


Friday Mornings - 9:00 AM
Instructor: Shell Christian

BalletTone is a ballet-inspired workout that will blast fat and improve overall strength, focusing on total body toning and flexibility. Basic fundamental ballet moves will be set to classical music creating both an inspiring and positive environment. Chairs will be utilized for barre work to improve overall balance and strength. Improved posture, body alignment, and stretching will create a workout for the entire body. Ballet is known to improve flexibility, strength and muscle tone while relieving stress and anxiety.

**No experience necessary. Ages 14 and up.

Shell Christian

Shell Christian is an avid enthusiast for health through dance and Fitness. Having owned and taught in a dance and fitness facility, she looks forward to now sharing her excitement with the people of Tehachapi. She has dance training in a variety of genres, such as Ballet, Hip Hop, Tap, Ballroom, and Belly Dancing, and loves to combine this experience with her desire to help others improve their overall well-being both physically and emotionally. She is a firm believer in how dance and music can improve one’s overall state of being. She has watched transformations of clients through this form of exercise. She has had the opportunity to live in unique places around the world such as Hawaii and Brazil and seen firsthand how music and dance brings people together regardless of cultural differences. She trusts in the unity group dance fitness brings regardless of age, race, shape, experience or circumstances.
