Tehachapi TotsTehachapi Tots is an enrichment, preschool program operated by the Tehachapi Valley Recreation & Park District. The Program serves children 18 months through 5 years of age. Enrollment is open to the public, and children are admitted to the program without regard to race, color, creed, or sex.

The enrichment program, through fun filled activities, seeks to enhance you child's social, physical, emotional, and intellectual development. Activities include supervised play, singing, games, story-time, discussion of themes, special events, motor movement, field trips, and much more!

Program Philosophy: To present to children activities that will foster their growth and development, encourage their curiosity, expand their interest, and help them recognize all of their potential.

Start Smart Programs, created by the National Alliance for Youth Sports, help kids get ready for sports… and succeed in life. It is an innovative step-by-step approach that builds confidence and self-esteem in a fun and safe sports environment. Start Smart was developed by top motor skill development specialists in the field of youth sports.

Parent-child groups perform motor skill tasks that gradually build confidence in children while they are having fun at the same time. Each Start Smart Program utilizes the Start Smart Sports Readiness Test to help parents objectively measure kids' abilities. As the program progresses and children show improvement, the skills and exercises are altered so that each child remains challenged.

TVRPD Summer Adventure CampTVRPD is excited to bring back our Summer Adventure Camp! Our mission has always been to enrich lives and foster harmony within the community. We care a great deal about the youth in the Tehachapi Valley. The main goal of our program is to provide children with a safe and enjoyable environment where they can grow emotionally, socially and physically through developmentally appropriate experiences. We will focus on youth development and enrichment while having fun, being engaged and being active. Each week will have its own theme that will bring specific activities related to that theme.

Adventure Camp will utilize the Park District’s fields and facilities that will facilitate all indoor and outdoor activities. Monday-Friday will be organized play and activities. Field Trips will be the last Friday of each Session.

Lego Camps - Core Engineering Grades K-5Our Core Engineering programs are our biggest “sandbox”. This is the safe space for kids to learn and discover the most through play. It’s about the process, not the result. Themed classes and camps explore imaginative worlds that kids already know and love. The Core Engineering curriculum consists of Intro to STEM and STEM Challenge. These programs are broad in theme and draw upon the greatest variety of possible projects. Returning students will be given new building challenges.
