Tehachapi Parks and Recreation is excited to announce its Music in the Park series at Meadowbrook and Central Park this summer. Grab your blankets, chairs and friends for a family friendly music event.
Join us for the 12th annual 4th of July Bun Run 5K. New route! The race will begin at Monroe High School but will now end at Central Park with all the festivities. $25 includes technical t-shirt.
Grab your chairs, blankets, friends and family for a night under the stars. Tehachapi Parks and Recreation has partnered with the Golden Hills Community Services District and local businesses to bring three movies on a 26 ft inflatable jumbo movie screen to Meadowbrook Park in July and August. Movies are free and begin at dusk.
Recreation is an essential element of a healthy and vibrant community, providing individual social and economic value. People rely on Tehachapi Valley Recreation & Parks District's parks, facilities and recreation programs for many benefits, ranging from the pursuit of health and fitness, adult and youth education, getting out and enjoying nature, or simply seeking family togetherness. Recreation and parks encourage individuals, groups and families to connect in a way that creates open, diverse and fun experiences. Recreation programs and park systems have also become an integral component of the county's economic development and sustainability.
The District was formed on December 4, 1958. Since then the District has strived to meet the recreational needs of the Tehachapi Valley. TVRPD currently operates a range of facilities devoted to providing health and fitness, recreation, and educational opportunities. These facilities include recreational buildings, sports facilities, an aquatic facility, boat dock, camping and fishing access. Recreational programming and special events offered within and outside of these facilities work to enrich the lives of all residents. TVRPD has a vision and commitment to provide and develop new facilities that will service the entire Tehachapi Valley.
