Legal Authority

The Tehachapi Valley Recreation & Park District was established by Board of Supervisors Resolution of February 3, 1959 and City of Tehachapi Resolution No. 4-59 of February 16, 1959, pursuant to Section 5781.4, Public Resources Code; name changed by Minute Order of December 11, 1984.

Membership Qualifications:	Five members; two appointed by the mayor of the City of Tehachapi and three appointed by the Kern County Board of Supervisors.
Term:	Four-year staggered term.
Duties:	To acquire, construct, and operate recreational facilities, to employ persons to maintain and operate facilities, and to enter into and perform all necessary contracts.
Meeting Place and Time:	District Office at 490 West "D" Street, Tehachapi on the third Tuesday of each month
Agenda:	Agenda for the next meeting will be posted on this website on the Thursday or Friday prior to the meeting, but at the very latest at least 72 hours before the meeting.
Compensation:	None.
