Tehachapi Valley Recreation & Park District Received State Safety Award

I am extremely proud to announce the California Association for Parks and Recreation Indemnity (CAPRI) will recognize Tehachapi Valley Recreation & Park District with the 2025-2026 Ted Winslow Safety Award at its annual conference this May. CAPRI is a risk-sharing pool and is the District’s insurance provider. Every 18 months, CAPRI staff visits the District as part of their District Visitation Program to assist in running a safe and successful organization. CAPRI represents more than 65 recreation and park special districts throughout California. This award is given to recreation and park districts who score above 90% in over 20 safety categories. TVRPD received an EXCELLENT rating with a score of 97%.

This award recognizes the District’s approach to employee training, regular facility inspections, and emergency preparedness. From our youth programs, community events, and park and facility maintenance, safety is a priority.
